Some important info:
Municipal election donations are not tax deductible.
Donations of $100 or more must be recorded with a full name and address. Under Provincial Law, this information will be disclosed as part of a candidate's public financial statements.
Under Provincial Law, Cash donations cannot exceed $25.
The maximum donation from an individual to a single candidate is $1,200.
The maximum total for all candidates in the same jurisdiction (same Council or school board) is $5,000.
A receipt must be issued by the Candidate before the end of the Campaign period (End of Year)
